Our Work

Our evidence-based approach brings together community and local epidemiological priorities to focus programming on the most common and serious causes of preventable illness and death. Community groups are formed to guide the project and foster sustainability.

Woman-centered and culturally appropriate care

Our community maternity clinics, called Maternal Homes, offer 24/7 maternal and child health services where families can receive specialized care in their native language and according to their traditions. They provide a safe and nurturing environment for childbirth and foster trust in healthcare services.

By the community, for the community

We work hand in hand with women and families to help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to lead healthier lives. Our programs focus on the first 1,000 days—from pregnancy to a child's second birthday—with group classes and home visits that support mothers during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and childcare. We also teach children and adolescents how to stay healthy, helping them prevent illness early and develop good habits for life.

Gender equality

Many women don't understand their bodies and face tragic physical, financial, and emotional abuse at home. In our partner communities, our Women Leaders Network creates safe spaces for women to come together to learn, share experiences, and overcome common barriers. Our external network brings together women from around the world to support each other, learn, and grow together.

Certification in humanization, cultural adequacy and respect for motherhood

This course does not train professionals to assist in childbirth, but rather to accompany the birth process. It represents a fundamental shift in mentality: healthcare workers are not the protagonists of childbirth—the mother is. The training emphasizes that the role of medical personnel is to support, respect, and empower women, ensuring that childbirth is treated as a natural and deeply personal experience.
