Women's Empowerment Network

Women's empowerment session

Fostering Empowerment within Communities

The Women's Empowerment Network brings together women from across our partner communities to lead change from within. Twelve local women's groups meet monthly, guided by trained health educators, to explore topics such as gender equality, reproductive health, child nutrition, violence prevention, economic rights, and community advocacy.

Each group defines its own priorities, whether it is starting a home garden, launching a savings group, or organizing around access to health care. Together, they create and carry out annual community improvement plans that reflect their needs, voices, and vision.

More than just a program, the network is a space where women build confidence, support each other, and take on leadership roles in their homes and communities. Through shared learning and collective action, they are transforming the systems that shape their lives—and inspiring a more just, healthy future for everyone.

Creating a Network of Support

The External Network is a growing community of people from all walks of life: churches, professional groups, community organizations, students, and individuals who are committed to advancing women’s health and empowerment in Guatemala.

Members of the network engage in meaningful ways, including sharing knowledge through in-person or virtual learning exchanges, offering financial support, and directly supporting local women’s groups as they pursue their community-defined goals. Whether it's helping launch a savings group, expand a home garden initiative, or strengthen advocacy efforts, the External Network plays a vital role in amplifying the impact of women-led change.

We invite you to join us. Your experience, skills, and support can make a lasting difference!
