Transforming health. Empowering communities.
We collaborate with communities in Guatemala to empower women and improve maternal and child health.
Curamericas Guatemala is committed to improving maternal and child health in Guatemala. Our team works tirelessly to provide essential health services and resources to pregnant women and young children in rural Mayan communities. Through our programs, we seek to make a lasting impact on the lives of families and contribute to a healthier future for Guatemala.

The Families We Serve
In the rural highlands of Guatemala, Indigenous Mayan families face some of the highest rates of infant mortality and malnutrition in the Western Hemisphere. Generations of systemic marginalization have left these communities without adequate access to healthcare, education, and clean water. Mayan women often give birth at home due to barriers such as cost, distance, and a lack of cultural sensitivity in the healthcare system, putting their lives at risk. Furthermore, more than 50% of children suffer from chronic malnutrition, and one in four is underweight, making early childhood survival and development a daily challenge. Our work seeks to close these gaps, ensuring families receive the care and support they deserve.
